Lead, Mechanic - Combustors

About the role

As a Lead Mechanic at StandardAero, you will serve as a working lead and be responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of the department. You’ll support daily production flow, shift coordination, and hands-on component maintenance from induction through final release.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a working lead and lead daily stand-ups and represent the cell in production and cross-functional meetings.
  • Maintain training progress, update skills matrices, and support employee development.
  • Review timesheets, labor utilization, and production performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, COPQ reduction, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and support teams to resolve technical and workflow issues.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure compliance.
  • Perform component induction, documentation review, and AD/mod status verification.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and document components in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Apply maintenance manuals, technical data, blueprints, and support test cell operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience performing induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in a production, maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • At least 1 year of Microsoft Office experience - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 50% of shift.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Experience using production, ERP, or MRO systems to document labor hours, materials, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience training or mentoring mechanics.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
