Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily fabrication activities while serving as the technical lead for the fabrication team.
- Provide hands-on leadership, work direction, training, and support to fabricators and apprentices to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
- Remain actively involved in fabrication, welding, assembly, troubleshooting, equipment modification, and repair work.
- Help prioritize workflow, coordinate project needs with internal customers, support material planning, and promote continuous improvement, sanitary design, GMP compliance, and operational excellence.
- Break down drawings and project scopes to support material takeoffs, quoting, and cost-effective material sourcing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, inspections, repairs, materials used, and project status.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing efforts.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of fabrication, welding, layout, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, technical specifications, sketches, and engineering documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide clear work direction, coaching, and technical guidance to team members.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and employee development abilities.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, lockout/tagout, hot work practices, and OSHA requirements.
- Understanding GMP requirements and sanitary design expectations in a food manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office, maintenance systems, or manufacturing systems as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the Fabrication Shop Supervisor, Fabrication Manager, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams.

Pay
Pay Range: $29.00 - $36.00
Schedule
1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
