About the role
We are seeking a Processing Production Lead to support daily operations by reinforcing standard work, safety, and quality expectations. This role focuses on coordination, observation, issue identification, and timely escalation to supervision to ensure smooth and effective operations.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource across multiple lines or production rooms.
- Maintains adherence to food safety, quality, and process control requirements.
- Identifies, documents, and escalates process deviations that could impact product integrity.
- Acts as first on scene for safety, quality, or process incidents.
- Observes daily operations to anticipate staffing, material, or process needs and flag potential risks.
- Supports team members in daily execution of tasks.
- Maintains compliance with PPE, food safety, and quality standards.
- Identifies workflow issues, inefficiencies, or risks and escalates with clear, factual information.
- Maintains output and product quality by assisting across lines or production rooms within assigned area.
- Communicates clear instructions and provides timely updates on production room statuses.
- Supports standardized start-of-shift routines, task organization, and workflow coordination.
- Records production data accurately and reports anomalies or trends.
- Participates in problem-solving efforts and supports implementation of continuous improvements.
- Provides hands-on assistance during staffing gaps or peak production periods.
- Directs and supports team members and operators.
- Reinforces standard work and expectations through ongoing coaching and timely feedback.
- Fosters an inclusive, safe, and respectful work environment.
- Supports and ensures compliance with OFD policies and procedures.
- Champions OFD culture.
Requirements
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in food manufacturing or related field.
- A high school diploma; an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of indirect leadership experience.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for team performance and shift outcomes.
- Familiarity with lean, continuous improvement, or 5S principles.
- An ability to lead by example and model safe, compliant, and productive work behaviors.
