About the role

The Lead Technician (Maintenance) position at Avmax Montana Inc. in Great Falls, MT, reports directly to the Project Managers and Production Manager. The role involves assigning and scheduling tasks to technicians, monitoring workers, providing on-the-job training, executing project plans, managing work scopes, reviewing work cards, and ensuring crew productivity and compliance with Avmax's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and schedule tasks to technicians based on skill set, as directed by the Project Manager and in accordance with Avmax's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and provide clear on-the-job instructions to workers under supervision.
  • Train and orient apprentices and technicians, delegating this function to qualified technicians when possible.
  • Execute project plans for areas of expertise as outlined by the Project Manager.
  • Manage work scopes within project budgets as set by the Project Manager.
  • Review and verify daily time cards for crew members.
  • Ensure crew members bill their time correctly and account for all time worked.
  • Ensure crew members adhere to Avmax's policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  • Administer performance reviews, salary recommendations, and corrective discipline for assigned crew members.
  • Administer equipment and ensure it is safe and handled in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and ensure equipment is kept in good condition.
  • Comply with Avmax's RSQCM and Training Manuals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated capability and competency in the field of expertise.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage employees.
  • Strong fundamental aircraft knowledge.
  • Possesses strong fundamental aircraft knowledge.
  • Must be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 for the work being supervised.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Physical requirements: occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working at heights greater than 10 feet.
