Lead Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Lead Facilities Technician will plan, schedule and service the facility, utility systems operations and maintenance activities. Specific responsibilities include servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, performing architectural work, renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures. Additionally, the Lead Facilities Technician will supervise Maintenance Workers.
Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Perform architectural work, renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures
- Serve as supervisor, overseeing the work of Maintenance Workers
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or certificate in a technology or trade in electronics, electrical, heating and air conditioning or related field; 6 years of directly-related maintenance experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Trades licenses/certifications: NM boiler operator (BO I/II), EPA Universal certification, electrical, plumbing licenses, HVAC-R
- Demonstrated skills in general maintenance and ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed
Qualifications
- Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling heavy equipment, bending, stooping, climbing, carrying, outdoor work and working alone for long periods of time with or without accommodation
- Able to wear a respirator and any other required personal protective equipment
