Lead Maintenance Technician - Amara Metrowest
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Complete maintenance requests including repairs to appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, gates, pools, and general community facilities.
- Respond to emergency calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays to resolve urgent maintenance issues.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager & oversee maintenance staff by delegating work orders and participating in evaluations.
- Prepare vacant units by completing all tasks required to make apartments rent-ready.
- Maintain facilities and inventory by keeping shops organized, stocking parts, and ensuring all amenity areas remain clean and operational.
- Provide resident support through professional communication, addressing complaints, delivering notices, and assisting with resident events.
- Handle administrative and contractor tasks such as logging service requests, updating databases, and monitoring vendor performance.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 3+ years maintenance experience with strong leadership skills, as well as strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; apartment maintenance preferred.
- Refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, move 300-300 lb items on wheels, climb 40-ft ladders, and use hand tools, test equipment, and hand trucks.
- Ability to move heavy equipment such as appliances, laundry machines, building materials, and amenity equipment (often 100–300+ lbs), including up stairs when required.
- Comfort working at heights and in varied conditions while performing repairs, upgrades, and resident service tasks using ladders and other equipment.
