About the role

The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance and janitorial needs of the building, acting as a leader and role model for the team. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and compliance with codes, and managing work orders.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and responds to work orders, including follow-up with residents and management as needed.
• Aids in safety trainings and inspections.
• Performs plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Follows up with management on projects and inspection requirements, meeting deadlines as necessary.
• Operates and installs according to local, state, and national codes.
• Inspects work of others for quality, completion, safety, and compliance with contracts as directed.
• Maintains and tests safety equipment and appliances for proper operation.
• Functions in an on-call capacity and has reliable transportation.

Requirements

• Advanced skills in maintenance and a minimum of 5+ years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience, or equivalent experience in one or more building trades or vocational-tech graduate with a journeyman rating.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Basic understanding of English and fluency in English.
