What You’ll Do
- Receive all line calls and dispatch maintenance personnel.
- Document all line calls, repairs, changeovers, PMs and duties throughout the shift onto the call sheet.
- Perform shift handoff meeting with oncoming shift lead and personnel.
- Ensures change parts are returned to proper locations and mechanics are completing requisitions for all parts issued out of the parts room.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and timely documentation, including maintenance logs and other departmental reports.
- Suggests mechanical improvements to ensure the highest level of productivity, capacity and quality are met.
- Supports department manager with budget preparation and submits cost savings ideas throughout the year.
- Adds input for yearly reviews of maintenance personnel.
- Responsible for equipment downtime during shift.
- Reports under-performing conditions to the department manager, including machinery or equipment malfunctions.
- Identifies and delivers training on SOPs, On-the-Job procedures and work instructions based on job responsibilities.
- Ensures maintenance personnel are adequately trained.
- Assists in planning and scheduling of Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all assigned equipment.
- Leads and promotes safety awareness and responsibility within the department and facility that ensures safe work conditions for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Supports the safety initiatives and processes that help identify and correct any unsafe work conditions.
- Provides recommendations for improvement to management and the safety department.
- Complies with FDA and cGMP requirements and provides recommendations to improve equipment performance that drives superior quality product.
- Ensures maintenance personnel work with other employees in a respectful manner, will take disciplinary action, if necessary, with Managers discretion.
- Maintains confidentiality of customer information, and processes and other sensitive and confidential information.
- Exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed due to workplace demands.
- Completes SOPs, Work Instructions other paperwork according to established company policy.
What We Need from You
- A High School Graduate/GED equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Knowledge of: FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA Safety Requirements; operation of power industrial equipment, including forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
- Skills in: being a self-starter; having a strong work ethic; oral and written communication; leadership; organizational; technical; analytical problem solving.
- Ability to: read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; wear required PPE as needed (list any specific PPE for the role); work as part of a team; develop and maintain good working relationships; receive and understand instructions and perform tasks with minimal supervision; multi-task and manage time efficiently and effectively; plan ahead and prepare action plans to achieve results; operate all machinery on the production floor; rebuild major pieces of equipment on the production lines; read and interpret blueprints and manuals; assist and train other mechanics as necessary.
