Lead Maintenance/Construction Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Performs advanced journey-level work in multiple building trades, coordinating maintenance and small construction projects.
• Serves as the lead worker for maintenance and construction activities within assigned state facilities.
• Mentors and trains staff, ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
• Functions as a technical resource for facility managers, maintenance staff, contractors, and state agencies.
• Promotes quality workmanship, safety, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial building maintenance, construction, facilities management, or a recognized building trade; or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in a building trade and four (4) years of journey-level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in commercial or institutional facility maintenance, government facilities maintenance, healthcare, educational, or correctional facilities maintenance, building automation systems (BAS), energy management systems, construction project coordination, preventive maintenance planning, supervisory or lead-worker experience, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, culinary and waste water piping systems experience, and building operator certification (BOC).
