Provide electro-magnetic design leadership for MRI magnet projects. Lead and participate in engineering efforts to ensure program deliverables adhere to plan. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to meet business quality goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead electro-magnetic design, field support, and verification efforts, including compliance and standards testing and system compatibility verification to meet MRI product requirements.
- Work with suppliers and engineering team members to develop design alternatives that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
- Establish and maintain performance, quality, vitality, and reliability standards for MRI products.
- Provide project leadership for electro-magnetic design activities, including estimating schedule and resource requirements, product cost, requirements development, and status reporting.
- Take on project leadership responsibilities to support the Lead Program Integrator or Program Manager on assigned projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, including graduate school research.
Skills
- Experience in superconducting magnet and cryogenics.
- 5+ years of experience in project design within a manufacturing, development, or research environment.
- Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands, and technical risks/issues.
- Proactively identifies, facilitates, and drives closure of project tasks.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently toward timely completion of assignments.
- Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex products.
- Strong decision-making skills; simplifies strategy into specific actions with clear accountability.
- Makes decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information and communicates priorities clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to interact with global team members.
- Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes.
- Previous experience working with medical devices.
