Lead LPS Overnight - Mobile Crisis Outreach Program Beamont
Sycamores is partnering with the 988 mental health crisis hotline to provide support to people experiencing a mental health crisis. The 988 hotline will provide initial phone support to all callers and triage calls to the Sycamores Mobile Crisis Outreach Program for in-person support. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Program responds to the community to provide timely support, including crisis stabilization, safety planning, assessment for danger to self/others, gravely disabled write 5150 holds as needed, and follow-up support.
About the Role
The Lead LPT or CADC II / III will provide support and leadership to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program, working in close partnership with the 988-call center, Riverside/Los Angeles County Dispatch Center, police, sheriff, psychiatric hospitals, and ambulance transport companies. This is a direct service leadership position designed to provide hands-on coaching, direction, and guidance to other LPS and PSS within the program. The Lead LPS is responsible for implementing best practices consistent with policies and the agency's treatment philosophy, providing administrative and leadership support, and being available for consultation during and following crisis calls. The role includes mentoring crisis staff, being on-call, and representing the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program to external stakeholders and community resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program.
- Work in partnership with 988-call center, dispatch centers, law enforcement, hospitals, and transport services.
- Offer hands-on coaching and guidance to LPS and PSS staff.
- Implement best practices aligned with agency policies and treatment philosophy.
- Provide administrative and operational leadership to the team.
- Be available for consultation during and after crisis calls, including filling in for field backup when needed.
- Mentor and lead crisis staff, including on-call responsibilities.
- Represent the program to external stakeholders and community resources.
- Provide teaching, training, and leadership using advanced LPS knowledge.
Requirements
- Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or CADC II / III in the State of California.
- LPS certified or LPS eligible.
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience preferred.
- 1 year post-licensure with related supervisory experience and advanced LPS knowledge of best practices.
- Excellent consumer de-escalation skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, creativity, flexibility, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and work through conflict calmly.
- Effective listening skills.
- Maintain all required licenses and certifications.
- Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by Agency policy.
- Proof of auto insurance meeting minimum coverage requirements.
Physical Demands
- Ability to physically manage and/or de-escalate consumers/residents.
- Frequent driving to various work site locations.
- Frequent/continuous sitting with occasional, intermittent standing/walking.
- Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities (fingering, grasping, forward reaching between waist and chest level).
- Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
- Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
- Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous use of near vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills for phone calls and interactions.
- Physical presence in the office during standard business hours.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Pay
Starting pay range: $74,000 - $78,000 per year for full-time employment (based on previous work experience and educational background). Additional $8,320 per year overnight differential.
Schedule
Sunday - Wednesday, 10:30 pm - 8:30 am.
