About the role
Responsible for supporting the tax and regulatory functions within the life and annuity processing teams.
Responsibilities
- Research complex transactions in relationship to the daily monitoring of policyholder processing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of processes and systems used for administration of tax regulations related to annuities; able to gather data from multiple administrative support systems, interpret, trouble shoot and answer business unit questions related to product taxation and reporting.
- Lead team in problem resolutions that arise due to production system problems or customer escalations.
- Interpret tax law changes and identify a course of action for the various departments affected with changes in law as it relates to taxation of annuities and life products.
- Maintain and support records for functions not system supported pertaining to tax law including but not limited to aggregation, cost basis manual updates, foreign reporting, and withholding.
- Serve as the lead for product enhancement initiatives impacting Information Reporting and Withholding, ensuring comprehensive testing is planned, coordinated, and executed, including validation of results to support accurate, compliant, and well-controlled implementations.
- Support management and department through implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives/goals while ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Provide feedback and documentation for team members regarding performance, including production and quality to meet/exceed departmental objectives.
- Work with management to mentor and provide feedback to team members to ensure correct handling and customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years with annuities, insurance or financial services.
- PREFERRED: Associates degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure and show effective decision making skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, customer service, number recognition and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In depth understanding of fixed and variable annuity concepts.
