Lead Tax Analyst (Hybrid)
About the role
Perform tax accounting, tax reporting and analysis functions. Responsible for applying tax analysis, knowledge and judgment to activities that are diverse and complex. May oversee activities within a specific tax function and/or specialty.
Responsibilities
- Extract financial data from various tax, accounting, and information systems to perform appropriate analyses.
- Review and/or prepare tax returns, tax provisions, and financial and management reports (e.g., for tax authorities, shareholders, policyowners, regulatory authorities and management).
- Draft and/or review technical memos and outlines.
- Develop non-standard reports and statements.
- Lead assigned projects including integration of new tax laws and accounting principles.
- Research complicated tax law and accounting principles.
- Monitor tax law to ensure data integrity.
- Perform special analysis and projects as requested.
- Offer leadership and direction to others.
- Assist in the evaluation of processes for operational efficiencies and effective risk management.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the business to proactively develop tax analysis and reports.
- Work effectively with other departments/divisions to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company.
- Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
- Manage staff to achieve performance standards.
- Develop and motivate staff to achieve effectiveness through mentoring, training, and sharing knowledge.
- Ensure staff demonstrate appropriate customer service attitudes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience
- Eight years of tax accounting experience
- In-depth knowledge of assigned tax specialty
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Advanced computer skills

- Supervisory experience
Working Conditions
Hybrid (Tuesday - Thursday in office)
Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Minimal to occasional travel may be required.

Pay
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $102,000 - $135,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
