Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting equipment (sheet and/or tube) for precision fabrication
- Lead daily production workflow on 2nd shift, prioritizing jobs to meet quality and delivery targets
- Perform cutting operations on a variety of materials based on engineering drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions
- Perform first article inspection and in-process quality checks using precision measurement tools
- Troubleshoot equipment, setup, or material issues to ensure part accuracy and consistency
- Support high-mix, low-to-medium volume production and NPI builds
- Train and support operators on equipment, processes, and safety standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S standards
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper use of required PPE

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong experience operating laser cutting equipment (fiber or CNC laser preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, and material handling
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
- Experience in high-mix or prototype manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and production tracking
Education/Certification Requirement
- A high school diploma or GED
- A technical associate degree or some college preferred
- 3–5+ years of laser operation or fabrication experience required
- Previous experience in a lead or senior operator role preferred
- Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing is a plus
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment supporting precision metal components
- Frequent interaction with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Moderate to fast-paced environment with changing priorities and job setups
- Frequent interruptions and shifting production priorities
- May involve varying temperatures depending on shop conditions
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and work on the production floor for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Frequent use of hands for equipment operation, setup, and material handling
- Repetitive motions associated with machine operation and part processing
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required
Environmental Exposure
- Exposure to a metal fabrication environment with moving machinery and equipment
- Moderate to high noise levels from laser cutting and fabrication equipment
- Exposure to metal materials, sharp edges, and fabrication debris
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
- Work may involve varying temperatures depending on shop conditions
