Lead LAN/WAN Engineer

Location: Washington, DC or Reston, VA (onsite)

Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Must be able to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Lead LAN/WAN Engineer to join our team. As the lead LAN/WAN Engineer, the successful candidate will provide expert design, analysis, research, and operation support to exceptionally complex networking problems and processes. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast-paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a leader in the local- and wide-area networking; highly sought by others for advice and guidance.
• Serve as a technical expert on established and ad-hoc project teams providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives on existing and new services to meet both architectural and operational needs.
• Provide expertise in Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, and Communications and Network Systems Management.
• Provide insight into cutting-edge technologies, integrations, and capabilities.
• Consult with other engineers, team leads, or customer stakeholders on requirements and technical direction.
• Provide expertise on, deep knowledge of, and hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Ruckus, Versa, NOM, NetScout and/or related network components or network monitoring and management tools.
• Provide deep expertise on BGP, OSPF, Tunnels (GRE, SudoWire, VPN, L2TP), Spine and Leaf, and BGP Peering.

Requirements

• IAT II (or Industry Equivalent)
• CCNP or CCIE (or industry equivalent)
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in technology or a related field and at least 7 years of related experience. Four (4) years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.

• 11+ years with High School Diploma
• 9+ years with Associate's Degree
• 7+ years with Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years with Master's Degree
• 3+ years with PhD

• Ability to work onsite in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment, as required
