Lead Lab Support Technician IV

About the role

The Laboratory Support Technician IV (LST IV) is part of the provider care team, supporting reports, data, and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely, and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service Standards in all customer interactions.
• Accurately acquire all required types of specimens for laboratory testing using accepted methodologies.
• Process, transport, and refer all types of laboratory specimens and associated reports.
• Perform POC and Waived Laboratory Testing.
• Assist technologists in all appropriate test modalities as needed.
• Conduct limited routine testing and assist technologists and physicians in appropriate test methods as needed.
• Perform duties and responsibilities consistently with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience or equivalent.
• Previous Mercy LST III designation or equivalency.

Qualifications

• Satisfactorily complete specific facility competencies, including but not limited to checklist, written examination, management observation, etc.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
