Lead Janitor - Agency Sites

Part-time position up to 30 hours per week, including some holiday work based on contract needs. Hours of operation: Monday–Friday, 4:30 pm–10:30 pm.

About the role

Responsible for cleaning performance at an agency site. Supervises as needed and develops task schedules for workers engaged in custodial services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning standards following the site scope of work
• Perform restroom cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, and vacuuming as assigned
• Operate high- and low-speed maintenance equipment and carpet-cleaning machines
• Monitor equipment use and report malfunctions to supervisor
• Address work-quality issues and other concerns in a timely manner
• Provide leadership by example (punctuality, exceptional attendance)
• Communicate regularly with Supervisor, QC Manager, and Contracts Manager
• Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
• Support agency goals, objectives, and philosophy
• Comply with CQL, Justice Center, HIPAA, and Corporate Compliance regulations
• Train custodial staff and/or people with disabilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or high school diploma (one year of relevant work experience preferred)
• Knowledgeable and capable of performing cleaning and disinfecting tasks
• Willing to act as supervisor when needed
• Valid New York State driver’s license
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Must provide own transportation to and from worksite; occasional travel between agency sites may be requested

Physical demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, lift, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 30 pounds.
