About the Opportunity
The Lead IT Systems Analyst (Software Asset Management) supports the Vendor Management Office by optimizing software investments and managing strategic vendor relationships. This role oversees key decisions involving software procurement, licensing, renewals, and compliance across a large software portfolio. The position helps align technology investments with business objectives while reducing financial, operational, and licensing risks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical, procurement, legal, and business teams to develop software acquisition and optimization strategies.
- Lead analysis and recommendations for software renewals, modifications, and cancellations.
- Conduct financial, operational, licensing, and risk assessments to support software investment decisions.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and contract terms to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Support negotiation strategies for major software transactions and licensing agreements.
- Manage software asset and license compliance initiatives, including accurate entitlement tracking.
- Develop and standardize Software Asset Management processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as a primary consultant on software licensing, vendor management, and risk mitigation.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve challenges and achieve business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and adoption of emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Economics, MIS, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
- Experience in software asset management, software licensing, renewals, contract analysis, or IT procurement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial, contractual, licensing, and operational data.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex software licensing agreements with major technology vendors.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar software transactions.
- Familiarity with Software Asset Management platforms such as Flexera.
- Experience with cloud providers including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Knowledge of procurement and vendor management processes.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Pay
Location-based pay range: $105,786–$155,152, depending on state. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other relevant factors.
