Responsibilities
- Irrigation System Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial irrigation systems.
- Perform spring startups, seasonal inspections, and fall winterizations.
- Troubleshoot electrical, controller, valve, wiring, decoder, and communication issues.
- Provide written and/or verbal descriptions of irrigation related issues and solutions to customers and team.
- Program and maintain irrigation controllers and related technologies.
- Perform irrigation system audits and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Aid in planning and coordinating irrigation service work as needed.
- Provide leadership and support to other irrigation team members.
- Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service needs and recommendations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
- Represent Premier Property Maintenance professionally at all times.
- Equipment & Vehicle Operations
- Safely operate company vehicles, trailers, compressors, and irrigation equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Team Support
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Aid in maintaining organized, clean, and safe shop and yard facilities.
- Support snow and ice management operations during the winter season as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing commercial irrigation systems.
- Valid Minnesota Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating compressors and performing irrigation winterizations.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing 2-wire irrigation systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial irrigation controllers, valves, wiring, pumps, decoders, and system components.
- Ability to read irrigation plans, wiring diagrams, and controller programming.
- Strong communication, customer service, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage service routes efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to perform physical labor including bending, kneeling, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Backflow Prevention Testing Certification required within six (6) months of employment if not already obtained.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT).
- Pesticide Applicator License (Categories A & E).
- Experience with Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, and Weathermatic commercial irrigation systems.
- Experience with central control systems and smart irrigation technology.
