About the role
Total Safety is seeking an IPSC Lead Technician to join their safety-conscious team. This position works under the supervision of the IPSC supervisor/manager and performs various semi-skilled or skilled tasks in a plant environment, including inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer-owned or TSUS equipment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages equipment in and out of the facility as needed.
- Works as a single person or as part of a team depending on the complexity of the work at the location.
- Inspects, tests, and maintains safety equipment according to manufacturer's requirements and document service according to TS/customer policies and procedures.
- Able to perform complex troubleshooting and ensure appropriate inventory levels and stocking of shelves with clean, tested, and ready-to-use equipment.
- Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Proficient in issuing, receiving, tracking, inspecting equipment using company/customer provided software and providing complex reports.
- Effectively communicates with others and builds rapport with customers quickly.
- Responds to complaints and resolves problems.
- Must work safely and adhere to all TS & customer policies and procedures.
Requirements
- At least two years of field experience and/or proven ability to lead a work team and/or manage processes and equipment in fire protection, air systems in plant, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industries.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must have a safe driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company trucks.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Must pass internal forklift certification as required.
- Must have three or more manufacturer’s certifications.

- Complex troubleshooting and diagnostics on assigned equipment problems.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Safe driving record and insurability for Total Safety vehicle insurance.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associates degree, technical, or military training strongly preferred.
