Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Monitor and teach baseball and softball skills at the Academy to insure consistency of basic baseball/softball offensive and defensive fundamentals at all levels.
- Teach all fundamentals identical to MLB standards.
- Assist the manager and staff in the selection of players for appropriate Academy teams.
- Coach teams as needed.
- Lead and/or assist instruction at camps, batting practices, non-profit activations and clinics as assigned.
- Lead and/or assist at all events assigned at Minute Maid Park including batting practices and client engagement events.
- Support the YA’s marketing efforts and outreach by participating in various public events, speaking engagements and other outreach or promotional programs and events.
Education and/or Experience & Skills
- Experience as a professional player, graduated college player/student, experience as a college/high school baseball or softball coach.
- Organized, efficient and consistent positive communication skills.
- Team player and ready to take direction.
- Solid organizational and scheduling skills.
- Able to organize baseball and softball practices.
- Able to instruct all facets of baseball and softball.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud.
- The employee will be expected to work both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather patterns (extreme heat or cold, rain, etc.).

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a part-time position.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
