Instructor, Astros Youth Academy - Part Time

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Aid lead instructors in all baseball and softball programs at the Academy to teach basic fundamentals.
• Coach teams as needed.
• Assist in instruction at Academy camps and clinics as assigned.
• Perform duties at events such as batting practices and client engagement events at Minute Maid Park as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience & Skills

• Experience playing high school and/or college baseball or softball.
• Current high school/college student or recent graduate.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Organized and dependable.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is moderate, but may be loud during events.
• The employee will work both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Specific vision abilities required include close and focused vision.
• The ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion is necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is a part-time position.
• The employee is expected to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
