Position Summary
The Lead Installer is responsible for completing a variety of tasks associated with quality install of residential HVAC equipment. The Lead Installer will receive routed work from dispatch, report to assigned job site on time, and perform work to the company’s quality expectations. All NHS installers will promote warranty products to Pivotal customers.
Responsibilities
- Continuously provide the customer with the highest levels of customer service.
- Understands and complies with all safety policies including calibrating gas sensing tool every month.
- Able to install most furnaces, condensers, humidifiers and accessories with no assistance.
- Mastered all electrical wiring of furnaces, condensers and thermostats. This includes high and low voltage wiring.
- Thoroughly understands and complies with the inventory policies and procedures of NHS.
- Accountable for use of inventory involving his/her work.
- Must be able to install sheet metal duct systems, connect gas lines, cut and thread pipe, and install copper refrigerant line to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
- Able to complete all tasks sent to him/her including billing customers correctly, ordering parts and materials needed for job completion, and handling paperwork properly, timely and legibly.
- Business Acumen: Install HVAC related equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Use good time management to make effective use of travel.
- Use good time management to keep non-productive time down during weekly inventory re-stock and picking up parts and materials.
- Must be able to cycle count inventory upon procurement’s request.
- Demonstrates attention to detail involving his/her payroll to minimize any reclass data entries at the end of the month.
- Demonstrates a high level of technical competence.
- Ability to utilize a variety of analytical techniques to solve problems.
- Engagement: Complies with all corporate and department policies and procedures.
- Develops strong credibility with co-workers and department leadership.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately diagnose problems or conditions. Uses good people skills and judgement with customers to provide them with the highest level of customer service.
- Work with the PHS Prevention and Safety Team to keep safety our #1 priority by submitting good catches from the field.
- Climbing, Extreme Hot or Cold (out of doors), Heavy Lifting, Loud Noise, Use of ladders to get to equipment, crawling to look for registers, going into crawl spaces and attics to locate access furnace.
- Safety awareness, overhead hazards, equipment operations, wearing PPE as required.
- Must be able to reach, bend extend and lift 50-60 lbs.
- Must be able to handle working from heights
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required.
- HVAC certification OR Vocational/skill training experience in HVAC in lieu of certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites.
- iPad usage.
