Lead Installer
Job Summary
We are looking for a customer focused, organized, ethical and career minded professional that can lead and work well in a growing a team. As a lead AV installation technician, you will work closely with our project managers, engineers, warehouse team and installation personal at various project sites. You will need to be proficient with technical drawings, interaction with clients, general contractors, and various other partners in a professional manner. In this role, we are looking for you to teach, share your experience and knowledge with other junior technicians on our team.
Basic Requirements
- Installation and configuration of high-end audio, video, network, automation systems (Lutron, AMX, Crestron, Qsys, Extron, Biamp or other common control systems)
- Strong understanding of AV system integration, complex signal flow and control systems for distributed audio and video
- Ability to assemble racks and testing
- Fundamentals of Sound Mixing
- Termination of various cable types and connectors – coaxial, ethernet, BNC, RJ45, DB9 etc.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, architectural drawings and project printouts
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problem installations at both system and component levels
- Familiar with programming and configuring advanced control systems (e.g. Crestron, Extron, AMX)
- Skilled in AV system testing, calibration and optimization for high performance
- Strong problem solving skills; can make quick decisions in the field and provide solutions to clients
- Well versed in networking principles, including AV over IP setups and advanced network configurations
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems, installation, and related tasks in a safe and efficient manner without causing damage or risk.
Essential Duties
- Must have work experience within the pro AV integration industry
- At least three (3) years of previous experience with demonstrated success
- Strong organizational skills and job site leadership qualities
- Able to independently lead installations for mid-sized projects, keep track of job progress and report detailed information to project/installation manager.
- Serve as mentor for junior technicians
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask
- Must be able to accurately keep track of time and materials following company standards
- Have ability to meet deadlines and comfortable dealing with ambiguity at times
- Valid Driver’s License and a DMV record that meets CCS Mid-Atlantic’s driving standards
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Travel to various job sites as required
- Own personal tools in the performance of duties
- Strong work ethic (punctual, dependable, etc)
Certifications
- CCTS Certification
- CCTS-I is preferred
- Crestron, SMART, Biamp, Qsys, etc. are desirable
