Lead Infant Childhood Teacher

About the role

The Lead Early Education Teacher at Bayview's Intergenerational Childcare Center (ICC) is part of a unique, nonprofit program within a continuing care retirement community. This role leads classroom operations, guiding teaching staff while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly, and stimulating classroom and center environment
• Monitor safety and support daily operations
• Ensure compliance with ICC and Bayview policies, as well as licensing regulations
• Serve as a key point of communication with families, providing updates on children’s progress and development
• Shape and implement intergenerational learning experiences with residents

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• An Associate of Arts Degree, a Child Development Associate Degree, equivalent options, or willingness to work towards
• Demonstrated willingness to continue attending educational offerings
• At least two years prior experience working with children under five
• Mets or exceeds the minimum licensing requirements for certifications (i.e., CPR, HIV/AIDS, First Aid, Food Handlers Permit)
• Must be 18 years of age
• Treats parent/child information in a confidential manner
• Possesses good communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to be flexible and patient
• Able to have fun and laugh often!
