About the role
The Lead Early Education Teacher at Bayview's Intergenerational Childcare Center (ICC) is part of a unique, nonprofit program within a continuing care retirement community. This role leads classroom operations, guiding teaching staff while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and stimulating classroom and center environment
- Monitor safety and support daily operations
- Ensure compliance with ICC and Bayview policies, as well as licensing regulations
- Serve as a key point of communication with families, providing updates on children’s progress and development
- Shape and implement intergenerational learning experiences with residents
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- An Associate of Arts Degree, a Child Development Associate Degree, equivalent options, or willingness to work towards
- Demonstrated willingness to continue attending educational offerings
- At least two years prior experience working with children under five
- Mets or exceeds the minimum licensing requirements for certifications (i.e., CPR, HIV/AIDS, First Aid, Food Handlers Permit)
- Must be 18 years of age
- Treats parent/child information in a confidential manner
- Possesses good communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to be flexible and patient
- Able to have fun and laugh often!
