About This Role
We are looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Infant and Toddler Teacher to join our team! In this role, you will create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where our youngest learners can explore, grow, and thrive.
What You'll Do
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment for infants and toddlers.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Follow daily routines including feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime while meeting each child’s individual needs.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times to ensure safety.
- Build secure, positive relationships with children through consistent caregiving and interaction.
- Observe and document children’s developmental progress and milestones.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s daily activities, development, and well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom environment following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with coworkers and administration to support a positive classroom and center culture.
- Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Support children in developing early language, social, and motor skills through play and guided interaction.
- Prepare bottles, meals, and snacks according to health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
- Assist with classroom transitions, outdoor play, and daily schedules.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to children’s emotional and developmental needs.
Requirements
- A love for children is of utmost priority
- Ideal candidates would hold either a lead teacher qualification, associate or bachelor degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous knowledge and experience regarding City of Madison Accreditation standards
- Well-versed understanding of Wisconsin Department of Children & Families licensing rules
- Child and infant CPR/AED
- Child and infant First Aid
- Shaken Baby Syndrome training
- Child Abuse & Neglect certification
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training
- Strong organizational skills
- Energetic personality
- Open communication skills
