About the role
Perform all duties associated with shipping and receiving of product, and inventory management.
Shift: 1st (8am–5:30pm). Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred. There may be occasions where overtime is necessary on the weekends or adjustments to your hours may be required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all warehouse personnel follow policies and procedures for inventory handling.
- Direct warehouse personnel as necessary.
- Responsible for safety of all equipment used; report all unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor or director.
- Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Must be trained and pass licensing for Warehouse Material Handling Equipment; operate all equipment safely following OSHA-mandated guidelines.
- Perform Warehouse Material Handling Equipment pre-operational check and fill out check sheets; report any deficiencies immediately to supervisor/manager or director.
- Maintain dock, freezer, grounds, and parking lot cleanliness.
- Ensure all trucks are chocked prior to loading or unloading.
- Unload and check in products, verifying counts and lot numbers upon receipt; note any errors and correct Bill of Lading (BOL).
- Receive incoming product, checking and logging counts, lot numbers, and locations.
- Move products as needed to pick locations, checking and logging counts, lot numbers, and locations.
- Accurately pick orders, checking, logging, count, lot numbers, and locations; follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Exhibit a superior attitude while working with outside carriers, internal and external customers, and employees.
- Ensure all paperwork (Forklift log sheet, Put-A-Ways, Moves, Pick Tickets, etc.) is neat and orderly.
- Safely change and maintain batteries.
- Able to work overtime as required with minimal notice.
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Complete required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
- Adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and all Food Safety policies.
- Adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
- Report suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
- If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).
Physical Demands
- Frequently stand for long periods of time.
- Frequently talk or hear.
- Frequently walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in the process of order picking.
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
Work Environment
- Work in a freezer/cooler/dock environment (0–32 degrees F).
- Floor of work area may be icy; care must be taken when walking or driving equipment.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
