Lead HVAC Technician / Field Operations Lead
About the Role

As a Lead HVAC Technician, you’ll support daily field operations by performing advanced service, repair, and maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC systems while leading and mentoring the technician team. This role serves as the primary field lead, ensuring high-quality workmanship, strong customer experience, and smooth coordination between technicians, dispatch, and management. You’ll step in to oversee service calls, resolve escalations, and support operational workflow as needed. Backed by the stability and national brand recognition of One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, this is a startup environment where early team members help define standards, culture, and service for the Tri-Valley community.
Responsibilities
- Performs advanced diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Leads, mentors, and supports HVAC technicians in the field; provides guidance on technical issues, job quality, and customer communication
- Acts as the field point-person for daily operations, coordinating with dispatch and management to ensure efficient scheduling and job completion
- Handles complex or escalated service calls and provides on-site problem resolution
- Reviews job quality, workmanship, and safety practices; ensures adherence to company standards
- Supports onboarding and training of new technicians
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures technicians follow cleanliness and professionalism standards
- Ensures company vehicles are properly stocked, maintained, and presentable
- Promotes a safety-first culture and models safe work practices at all times
- Communicates clearly with customers, technicians, and office staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assists management with operational tasks such as inventory checks, job follow-ups, and workflow improvements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–5+ years of successful HVAC service experience in residential/light commercial
- Strong diagnostic skills and technical competence
- Demonstrated leadership ability or prior experience mentoring junior technicians
- NATE certification preferred
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Clean driving record
- Professional, reliable, and able to represent the company with integrity

$45.00 per hour
