Lead HVAC Mechanic (Federal Building)

About the role

Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a federal building in Burlington, VT. Ensures compliance with all federal regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC issues, including but not limited to refrigerant leaks, electrical malfunctions, and ductwork problems.
• Coordinate with other tradespeople to resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Train and mentor junior HVAC technicians.
• Prepare and submit work orders and reports as required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an HVAC technician.
• Valid state HVAC license.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized HVAC training program preferred.
