About the role
This position leads the Medical Records Department at South Texas Health System. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting clinical documentation.Responsibilities
- Oversee the Medical Records Department to ensure efficient and effective operation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies related to medical records.
- Support clinical documentation processes to enhance patient care.
- Manage staff and delegate tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve workflow and patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Medical Records Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other healthcare compliance standards.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing a large volume of medical records.
- Understanding of electronic health record systems and their integration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
