About the role
The Lead Generation Specialist is responsible for contacting and following up on inbound sales inquiries. They will identify sales opportunities, pre-qualify prospects, and assign to sales staff and track them. This person must be able to engage with prospects/customers in a way that creates a superior customer service experience. Throughout the workday this person will be using various web-based research tools to look up customer and product information. In addition, the Lead Generation Specialist will identify needs and refer leads to the appropriate resources.
Duties and responsibilities
- Articulate the company's capabilities and value proposition
- Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of service and product offerings
- Develop a superior customer service relationship with both prospects and support teams
- Proactively research and stay up-to-date on company products/services and competitive products/services
- Assess buying interest to qualify sales leads based on specific lead qualification criteria
- Assign qualified leads accordingly and request updates on leads and quotes with sales team
- Update lead/opportunity interactions within spreadsheet or CRM platforms (SalesForce)
- Provide monthly activity report to management
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or lead generation, preferably in a B2B environment
- Strong understanding of lead generation strategies and tactics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proven ability to analyze data and trends to drive actionable insights
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be able to meet company's employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
Physical requirements
- Occasional lifting/carrying of 10 pounds
- Visual acuity, speech and hearing
- Hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment
- Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions
- Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
