About the role
You will develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive engineering plan to accomplish intermediate and depot level maintenance of TRIDENT class submarines.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, and interpret numerous technical directives and documentation, as well as inspect and evaluate component conditions.
- Assign, schedule, and track accomplishments of tasks by section personnel.
- Provide input and recommendations relevant to life cycle maintenance and repair of TRIDENT class submarines.
- Collect, evaluate, analyze, and distribute TRIDENT class submarine data.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You may be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
- In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer identifying, assessing, and resolving technical engineering problems through analysis and evaluation of TRIDENT class submarine engineering data and procedures to ensure quality and timely completion of repairs and maintenance actions.

- This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
