UFG is currently seeking a Lead General Adjuster - Field who will handle regional and company-wide large property losses. This role involves determining exposure, evaluating losses, and ensuring timely resolution while providing exceptional customer service and controlling expenses. The adjuster will also serve as the CAT Coordinator for designated catastrophes.

Responsibilities

  • Handle large property losses within the region or elsewhere as needed, adhering to Claims Best Practices and Claims Gold Standard reserving.
  • Serve as CAT Coordinator for designated catastrophes in compliance with UFG’s Catastrophe Plan.
  • Oversee UFG’s Catastrophe Plan, including an annual review and update as needed.
  • Monitor Catography reports for CAT activity as part of daily CAT duties.
  • Act as a property training resource, assisting in new hire training, regional property training, and serving as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree preferred.
  • AIC, SCLA, or PCLA designation (or completion within 3 years if not already held).
  • Willingness and ability to pursue continuing education relevant to the position.
  • Meet state licensing laws and requirements.
  • 10 years of property claims experience.

  • Self-motivated with strong time management and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and estimating software.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong soft and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership capabilities.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to complete assigned claims.
  • Overnight travel, including assignment to catastrophes.
  • Ability to work independently and from a remote home office.
  • Travel estimated up to 50% of the time, often on short notice.
  • Physical requirements include working outside and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $103,221 - $136,105 annually. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography, and market data.
