About the Role
As a Lead Gas Technician at Hope Utilities, you will perform a wide variety of field tasks related to pressure and metering facilities. This role encompasses all responsibilities of the Senior Gas Technician and Gas Technician positions, with additional duties including installation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for telemetering equipment, farm taps, pressure regulation stations, and relief devices. You will also conduct inspections of pressure regulation stations and farm taps, and be proficient in meter reading and locating underground gas facilities.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid motor vehicle license (required)
- At least 8 years of combined experience as a Gas Technician and Senior Gas Technician
- Must be bondable with no record of felony convictions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computer programs (desirable)
Skills
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing
- Analytical ability to investigate electrical and mechanical indications and solve complex problems
- Experience operating a motor vehicle
Physical Demands
This role involves fast-paced, physically demanding work with production goals. Duties include heavy lifting and manual labor, with the majority of the workday spent outdoors. You must be able to tolerate extremes of heat, cold, noise, and dust, and be available for emergency call-outs, extended hours, and job site reporting. Regular exposure to construction equipment and normal driving hazards is expected.
Additional Information
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing as required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical examination and completing DOT Operator Qualification (OQ) courses.
