Lead Float Teacher
About the role
The Lead Float Teacher at Mercy Regional Med Physicians is responsible for the supervision and management of the classroom in accord with the mission and curriculum of Employee Child Care Center. The role requires using education and experience in the field to create a classroom learning environment that is loving and developmentally appropriate and meets the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each individual child.

Requirements
- Teacher qualified in Colorado by one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or Child Psychology.
- A Bachelor’s degree in an area not listed above with two three semester hour Early Childhood Education college courses and at least 910 hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual.
- An Associate’s degree in child development or Early Childhood Education with at least 910 hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual.
- A current Colorado Level 1 credential or two three credit college courses with one course being either Introduction to Early Childhood Education or guidance strategies.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) or certified Child Care Professional (CCP) credential.
- Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development and at least 1,820 hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual.
Qualifications
- Mentor and support staff in the classroom.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding child care and education.
- Develop and implement educational activities that align with the curriculum and meet the developmental needs of the children.
- Assess and document each child's progress and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure open lines of communication.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Pay
The posted compensation range for this position is $18.00 - $27.77 per hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Schedule
The Lead Float Teacher works a medium work schedule, exerting up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly. The weekly schedule varies, and the shift is typically a day shift.
