Lead Fleet Mechanic/Technician

Amerit Fleet Solutions is one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., seeking an experienced Lead Technician to join our growing team in Forest Park, GA. The Lead Technician will ensure timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, or heavy-duty vehicles, manage employees, and oversee garage operations to maintain a safe and efficient fleet.

Pay

$36.00 - $40.00/hour (based on experience), paid weekly every Friday.

Potential bonus up to $5,000.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Day Shift).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Fleet Manager to complete shift work
• Supervise two or more employees while performing hands-on repairs
• Update, close, and manage work orders; interface with drivers
• Maintain, order, and update parts inventory
• Prepare vehicle records and reports both manually and digitally
• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation
• Inspect and repair undercarriage and other vehicle components
• Access all areas of equipment to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from job sites; install/remove parts on vehicles
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures
• Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of vehicle maintenance experience
• Fleet maintenance experience required
• DOT inspection experience required
• ASE Certifications preferred
• EPA 608 Certification preferred
• Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) preferred
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle for diagnostic purposes
• Must provide own hand tools and toolbox
• Knowledge of handheld scan tools and diagnostic processes
• Ability to read schematics and follow procedural documentation
• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, Email)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

This role operates in a mobile, outdoor, and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Essential job functions include:

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
• Lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• Regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment
• Working at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
• Performing duties in various weather conditions
• Sufficient vision and hearing to safely navigate the workspace
