About the role

The Capitated Rates Development Division (CRDD) is responsible for developing and processing Medi-Cal managed care capitation rates for more than 10 million beneficiaries across California's 58 counties. Under direction of the Unit Chief, the Analyst II performs the more varied and complex technical analytical staff assignments, including but not limited to: program evaluation, policy analysis and formulation, systems development, budgeting and planning, data collection and analysis, and consultation with management and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review analytical studies and surveys
  • Takes a lead role in formulating policies, procedures, and program alternatives
  • Schedules meetings as required
  • Makes recommendations on administrative and program-related matters pertinent to items related to the Medi-Cal managed care financial delivery system

Requirements

The Analyst II possesses good judgment, communicates effectively in writing and orally to both internal and external stakeholders, adapts to changing priorities, and is able to model and follow the procedures and protocols required to address diverse situations. The Analyst II demonstrates dependability, discretion, the ability to collaborate with others, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

The Analyst II must possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal managed care financial delivery system
  • Ability to interpret and apply statutes or regulations to ensure compliance
  • Experience communicating information to stakeholders with varying levels of understanding
  • Experience recognizing problems, identifying and collecting necessary data to inform possible solutions, and making recommendations for a resolution

Skills

The Analyst II must possess the following skills:

  • Good judgment
  • Effective communication in writing and orally
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
