Lead Fiber Technician

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install fiber optic cable
• Aid in the installation of low-voltage and telecommunications infrastructure
• Work with cable pathways, conduits, and telecommunications equipment
• Read and adhere to blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings
• Install, terminate, and test cabling as directed
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Travel between project sites throughout Massachusetts
• Support lead technicians and project teams to ensure successful project completion

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in one or more of the following: Fiber optics, Low-voltage systems, Structured cabling, Electrical work, Telecommunications, Security systems, AV installations, Construction
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Reliable transportation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to travel to various project locations throughout Massachusetts

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 Certification
• Fiber optic installation experience
• Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, or coax cabling experience
• Telecommunications or ISP experience
• Fire alarm, CCTV, or access control experience
• Electrical apprenticeship or trade school education
• Experience working in apartment complexes or commercial construction environments
