Lead Facility Quality Assurance Technician
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Mgr, Facility Quality Assurance in leading, developing, and coaching other Facility QA Technicians
- Supporting non-conformance investigations and corrective/preventive actions
- Leading/supporting internal quality system audits
- Serving as backup for Facility QA Technicians with daily tasks such as press checks, final inspections, and finished goods testing
- Maintaining quality control inspection/testing database and reviewing, validating, and analyzing daily quality assurance testing results
- Preparing reports as required and monitoring trends in data
- Escalating problem patterns to management
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent
- Prefers B.S. degree in related field
- Four (4) - six (6) years of experience in a refractories/ceramics manufacturing environment, preferably with some direct quality function support experience
- Requires fundamental knowledge and familiarity with ISO 9001 based Quality Management System procedures
- Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Requires strong interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of refractory products and processes is a plus
- Requires experience in working towards Lean production
- Requires problem-solving and decision-making skills
Physical And Environmental Requirements
- Physical Activity: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time using hands/fingers to handle and/or feel, reaching with hands/arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; less than 1/3 of time standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, tasting.
- Lifting: Requires lifting up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time
- Vision: Requires accurate close, distance, color and peripheral vision with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time exposed to wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, exposed to extreme heat or cold, or at risk of vibration; less than 1/3 of time in an office setting with limited exposure, working in high precarious places, exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, exposed to outdoor weather conditions, at risk of electrical shock, working with explosives or at risk of radiation.
- Noise: Requires exposure to moderate noise.
