About the role

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for promoting the Quality Management System and ensuring products comply with internal, customer, and industry specifications. They participate in the customer contract review process, support the Internal Audit Program, and implement Corrective Actions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Develop and train new internal audit Team members, outline audit plans, report deficiencies.
  • Review, revise, create, and implement Quality Management Systems processes and written procedures.
  • Develop data collection processes to detect trends in process control, identify root causes of process deviation, and implement corrective actions to reduce process variability while optimizing product quality.
  • Communicate to Management the impact of process variation.
  • Perform Customer Contract Review to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and customer purchase order requirements.
  • Review technical data to ensure manufacturing and inspection processes can produce conforming products.
  • Populate quality requirements compliance matrix and communicate applicable requirements to planning, production and inspection departments.
  • Communicate special customer requirements to purchasing and supply chain to ensure customer requirements are met by suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to establish quality procedures for meeting customer requirements.
  • Standardize inspection sampling plans to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry practices.
  • Oversee inspection reporting, gage set-up, and roaming inspection support.
  • Care for product release testing with Quality Control Technicians and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Participate in the Control of Non-Conforming Material process (MRB, RMA, Containment, RCCA).
  • Support Control of Monitoring and Measurement Equipment Recalibration system.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to establish quality procedures for meeting customer requirements.
  • Support the MagSeal’s Designated Quality Representative (DQR) program and release products on behalf of applicable customers per specified requirements.
  • Store and handle all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information or documentation.
  • Support all visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concerns.
  • Support the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee’s work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of professional experience in a Manufacturing and/or Quality Assurance Role
  • Familiarization with ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality Management Systems

  • Must be able to push/pull up to 10 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs. frequently
  • Must be able to push/pull from 11 to20 lbs. frequently
  • Must be able to lift/carry from 11 to20 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry from 21 to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Visual Acuity – Able to see close detail, distance and colors constantly
  • May come into contact with chemicals

Work Environment And Safety Equipment Required

  • Office environment and Manufacturing Shop/Shipping atmosphere with open floor space, can be noisy at times, and is climate controlled
  • Able to work onsite per business needs and per employee’s standard hours
  • Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required

ITAR/EAR Compliance

This position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulation. As such, U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or the ability to meet ITAR and EAR requirements is required.
