Lead Facility Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Lead at Liquidia oversees corrective and preventive maintenance for facilities, utilities, and manufacturing equipment. This role coordinates maintenance schedules across the site, including vendor-managed work, critical utilities, and general facility upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC and utilities
- Lead team execution of maintenance projects across multiple manufacturing sites and shift schedules
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and controls
- Provide first-line maintenance support and oversight for facility equipment
- Share and recommend design concepts with cross-functional project teams
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation throughout the process development, including asset creation, change controls, deviations, procedure updates, and decommissioning
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
- Support critical utilities, including compressed air, purified water, steam, and vacuum systems; respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Maintain site infrastructure, including lighting, doors, and general building systems
- Lead planning and execution of shutdowns for major maintenance activities
- Ensure team compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental requirements during maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate work records, including logs, calibration records, and maintenance reports; review work completed by other technicians
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support facility projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use maintenance analytics tools to improve process efficiency
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Associate degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; minimum of 5 years of facility or process maintenance or engineering experience in a GMP environment
- Experience: Writing procedures, work instructions, maintenance plans, deviations, and CAPAs
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effective communication skills for working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; ability to perform full asset life cycle management, including asset induction, implementation, analysis and organization of engineering turnover packages, maintenance, change controls, and decommissioning
