Job Overview
Puff 'n Stuff is seeking a Lead Event Chef to manage and lead the culinary team at off-site catering events. This role involves overseeing the preparation, service, and coordination of events while adhering to the Special Event Order (SEO).
Basics
- Supervise on-site culinary team members, verify attendance, and ensure uniforms are properly worn.
- Direct unloading and setup of culinary areas and workstations including mobile kitchens.
- Demonstrate positive leadership, providing feedback and coaching to the team regularly.
- Lead the team to prepare, heat, plate, and garnish the correct quantities of food in accordance with the event timeline and SEO.
- Ensure the entire team follows safe food handling procedures before, during, and after the event.
- Work with the Event Supervisor to make sure all necessary food and equipment listed on the SEO gets loaded onto the truck.
- Drive to and from the event in the company truck with the Event Supervisor.
Qualifications
- 2 years of culinary leadership experience in catering or restaurant, preferably in high volume, upscale environments.
- Working knowledge of all cooking techniques including grilling, roasting, baking, and proper heating, holding, and plating techniques.
- Familiarity with HACCP and health department guidelines.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, promoting a developmental leadership style that models the company’s values.
- Fluency in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid FL driver’s license and a clean driving record.
