Responsibilities
- Execution of the electronics failure analysis Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) in accordance with Honeywell and industry (MIL-STD-1580) standards.
- Performing component-level analyses of EEE (Electronic, Electric and Electromechanical) parts and assemblies.
- Regular use of various pieces of equipment for part/assembly evaluation and screening to requirements (Xray, CSAM, SEM, FIB, EDS, MULTIMETERS, CURVE TRACERS, ETC.).
- Specific operations may include – but are not limited to – equipment operation and maintenance; electrical measurements (resistance, capacitance, etc.); performing dimensional measurements; operation of multi-meters, hermeticity testers, and performing wet lab activities (i.e., use of chemicals, part mounting & cross sectioning).
- Inspection and testing related to electrical components and assemblies; may require handling chemicals and operating potentially hazardous processes/equipment (i.e., xray, band saw).
- Meeting with engineering to clearly understand requirements of the work request; ability to interface with engineering personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Able to clearly articulate in verbal and written communication the technical concepts related to lab work and failure analysis.
- Photographic documentation and technical reporting in a logical manner.
- Recording and reporting of analysis results using Honeywell web-based LIMS software.
- Routine maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation equipment.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience working with Electronic, Electric and Electromechanical components.
- US citizenship due to contractual requirements.
