About the role

The Lead Engineer oversees the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Company's Distribution Management System (DMS). They lead a team of engineers to support electric control centers, optimize the system for safe, reliable, and resilient energy delivery, and maximize the value of clean energy resources.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the distribution system using DMS features like AFRC, LVM, and DER/Load Forecasting
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure DMS functionality and future enhancements
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams for all phases of DMS implementation
  • Manage project approval documentation, ensuring rigorous project management
  • Investigate and assess new technologies and tools for grid modernization
  • Communicate the company's grid modernization initiatives externally and participate in industry forums
  • Assume the role of team leader and advocate for future-looking initiatives

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts
  • Experience modeling electric distribution systems
  • Knowledge of operational technologies such as DMS, OMS, GIS, SCADA, EMS, Synergi/Cyme
  • Basic understanding of communication systems and protocols
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using qualitative tools
  • Business development aptitude and strong presentation skills
  • Customer-driven, initiative-taking, and accountable attitude

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Master's in Engineering or MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Skills

  • Ability to manipulate large datasets for specific engineering results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $145,670.00 - $161,860.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.

Pay

$145,670.00 - $161,860.00

Schedule

Hybrid schedule is offered for certain roles, with a minimum requirement of working at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. Employees may be required to work up to five days in the office for emergencies, training, or other business needs.
