Lead Engineer, Distribution Engineering (Hybrid Schedule))
About the role
Eversource is seeking two full-time positions as Lead Engineers in their Distribution Engineering Team. The team is responsible for developing, expanding, planning, designing, maintaining, and operating the system and its equipment to ensure reliable service to customers. The Lead Engineer will oversee the development, evaluation, and resolution of system failures, and coordinate with other departments to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop engineers
- Assign, prioritize, and direct work performed by at least 2 FTE Engineers or 1 FTE Engineer and 1 FTE Designer
- Oversee all types of distribution systems within the local territory
- Develop, justify, and approve Life Cycle Plan activities over a multi-year horizon and for ongoing projects
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of additions, modifications, and replacements to the transmission and distribution systems
- Develop preliminary engineering designs and details, as necessary
- Collaborate with other Engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork
- Provide technical support and direction to operating areas during normal and emergency situations
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Select and develop technology and equipment for the system
- Create standards and procedures for design, operation, and maintenance
- Assume the role of Manager as required
- Assist with storm duty and other major events
Requirements
Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry. Supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Knowledge of utility power systems
- Ability to independently develop, present, and execute new projects
- Familiarity with power-related software

Benefits
The position offers a competitive total rewards program, including a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is $145,670.00-$161,860.00. Eversource supports work-life balance with a hybrid schedule, allowing employees to work from home up to five days a week, with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Employees may be required to work additional days in the office for emergencies, training, or other business needs.
