About the role

The Lead Maintenance Engineer oversees decisions on operating adjustments, maintains all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building equipment to ensure optimal functionality and guest comfort. This role requires detailed and technical maintenance support for all levels of building systems, equipment, and property structures. The Lead Engineer also supervises other Maintenance associates on the 2nd shift and serves as the primary point of contact for mechanical issues during the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and make decisions on operating adjustments for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building equipment
  • Maintain and operate all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building equipment to ensure optimal functionality and guest comfort
  • Provide experienced, detailed and technical maintenance support for all levels of maintenance and repairs to the building systems, building equipment and property structures
  • Supervise other Maintenance associates on the 2nd shift and serve as the point person for mechanical issues during the shift
  • Operate all aspects of the department computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple programming
  • Ensure associates are informed timely and appropriately of any business changes
  • Respond to all associate and guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented through various channels, in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner; follow up to ensure guest and associate satisfaction
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Trade school and/or College course work in related field preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • EPA Refrigeration Technician Certification
  • Stationary Engineer License from Chicago or Elgin preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible shifts and long hours occasionally required
  • Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Comfort level with operating and working from a lift up to 40 feet high

Pay

The starting rate for this position is $40/hour plus a $.50 shift differential.

Schedule

The schedule will be 3pm-11:30pm.
