Manufacturing Engineer Lead- 2nd shift
This is a 2nd shift opportunity with hours 4pm–1am, Monday through Friday. The role is on-site at the Toledo, Ohio plant; the successful candidate must be willing to work weekends. Relocation assistance may be offered.
About the Role
Lead engineer for a group of process engineers responsible for maintaining, improving, and developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations to effectively utilize personnel, material, machines, and facilities in producing propulsion systems. This role operates within a focus-factory manufacturing engineering environment, requiring creativity, initiative, and a high level of independent judgment.

Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities of a team of process engineers, including setting objectives, evaluating performance, and coaching.
- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements.
- Support business processes such as Fast Response, Practical Problem Solving, and PPAP.
- Interface with plant site personnel, Central ME personnel, and Product Engineers on new programs/projects.
- Analyze first-time quality data and optimize processes using statistical tools like Red X and Design of Experiments.
- Develop process documentation for new products/processes, including Process Flow Diagrams, Process Control Plans, and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
- Oversee and coordinate PPAP and GP-12 activities.
- Develop Product Quality Standards, Task Instruction Sheets, Safe Job Procedures, and Audit Sheets.
- Provide technical direction to less experienced process engineers and oversee factory/vendor personnel.
- Support Business Plan Deployment (BPD) initiatives and coordinate engineering activities to achieve objectives.
- Interface with plant personnel to support Continuous Improvement projects, improving Safety, People, Quality, Reliability, and Cost (SPQRC) metrics.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
- Strong knowledge of Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) principles.
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts, machine designs, and process requirements in manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machining and assembly manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
