Lead Engineer - Energy and Infrastructure Projects (Raleigh, NC)
About the role
As a Lead Engineer, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure. You are entrusted with leading, coordinating, and executing all engineering aspects across Linxon's diverse and high-impact projects—including Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS), Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Rail and Infrastructure programs, Data Centers, and both offshore and onshore Wind developments.
Responsibilities
- You will own all engineering execution—both in-house and outsourced—from proposal through energization, ensuring every project meets contractual, technical, and performance commitments.
- You will command the engineering budget, driving cost-efficient decisions that strengthen overall project financials.
- You will enforce schedule discipline, delivering complete, high-quality engineering packages on time and within targeted cost.
- You will set the project's technical vision, defining design criteria and maintaining a precise, risk-aware deliverables plan.
- You will inject innovative, cost-smart engineering solutions that enhance performance and reduce complexity.
- You will elevate vendor selection and subcontract strategy through rigorous technical evaluation and strong negotiation influence.
- You will guarantee safety-compliant, standards-aligned designs, eliminating risk, rework, and downstream issues.
- You will audit all design packages for accuracy, constructability, and cost impact before release to the field.
- You will validate vendor compliance, including witnessing factory acceptance tests to protect equipment quality and project reliability.
- You will partner closely with the Project Manager to strengthen scope control, procurement execution, schedule accuracy, and change management.
- You will champion quality and document control, ensuring clean, traceable, and audit-ready engineering records.
- You will lead all customer technical engagements, securing approvals and resolving design issues with speed and authority.
- You will unblock construction by responding to site technical questions and closing NCRs quickly, decisively, and safely.
Requirements
- You bring 8+ years of engineering or project management experience, ideally within an EPC environment, giving you the practical insight and leadership skills needed to drive complex energy-infrastructure projects forward.
- You hold a BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), providing the technical foundation to make informed decisions, solve complex challenges, and lead with confidence in a highly technical setting.
- You take clear ownership of engineering budgets and decisions.
- You consistently uphold contract requirements, quality, and safety.
- You bring strong technical judgment and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

Pay
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000 to $216,600. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
