Lead Engineer - Edison Works Mechanical Analysis

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our mechanical analysis team focused on new product development for static structures and external tubes and brackets. The candidate must apply strong FEA skills and engineering judgement toward solving component integration across multiple systems on military engineering applications.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements, including mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, using prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy and strategy.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work and integrate the work of your team with other teams to contribute to the area.
  • Use judgement and propose different solutions outside of set parameters with guidance, leveraging prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
  • Utilize technical skills and analytic thinking to solve problems, potentially using multiple internal sources outside of your team to arrive at decisions.
  • Serve as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent, providing informal guidance to new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship (required to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance).
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee) due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Skills

  • ANSYS Workbench pre and post-processing skills.
  • Experience with HyperWorks and other finite element software tools.
  • 2D FEA experience.
  • Established project management skills.
