Lead Engineer
We are hiring a Lead Engineer to work on mission-critical infrastructure facilities operations for the largest wholesale data center provider in the world. This role offers a clean, stable environment with variety and at least 40 hours of work per week, providing opportunities to learn, grow, and expand your skillset in a high-demand role.
About the role
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll ensure coverage 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Your work will involve a variety of activities, including inspecting infrastructure systems, performing routine maintenance, supervising the facility, assessing needs, monitoring construction projects, and completing repairs. You’ll gather information and take readings to fill in daily spreadsheets, focusing on the underlying support systems (power, cooling, etc.) for customers’ computers—no computer maintenance is required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor building infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair building infrastructure systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and more.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment.
- Assemble and commission Data Center equipment.
- Prepare Change Management Forms and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
- Schedule maintenance procedures with vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.
Requirements
- An Associate's degree (AA/AS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; data center experience is strongly preferred.
- A trade license or certification acquired through technical education/training.
- A facilities maintenance certification.
- Experience working with mission-critical data equipment.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills and experience.
- Understanding of computer systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and processes precisely and carefully.
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, at least one weekend day each week, and unscheduled overtime as needed.
- Ability to walk frequently for inspections, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and lift heavy objects.

Pay
Compensation range: $52.73 to $54.80 per hour. Individual pay is based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
